  4. Absolutely the EASIEST disk browser/launcher/copier!
  5. JUST ONE CLICK TO REACH OR COPY ANY FILE !

  7. A dockable & sizable win95-START-like popup menu-button 
  8. which browses through your file system with cascading
  9. folders, resolving links, opening documents, windows, 
  10. DOS sessions, copying/moving files without My Computer
  11. or Windows Explorer.

  13. Aren't you sick of double-clicking on tons of folders
  14. to open them just to realize that you have to search
  15. elsewhere and close them all ?
  16. I made Cruiser right for that.
  17. It uses as least memory as possible, 
  18. it doesn't waste resources.
  19.  
  20. You won't need to use My Computer or Windows Explorer 
  21. any more!
  22. Just find the folder you need with Cruiser, and press the
  23. right mouse button!
  24. Drag files or folders on Cruiser and select the directory
  25. in which you want to copy/move/link, or just browse them,
  26. or select "Open with" to find a program which will open your
  27. files.

  64.  INSTALLATION 
  65.  
  66.   First of all, if you have an older version installed,  
  67.   uninstall it (exit from Cruiser before uninstalling, if 
  68.   it is running). You can use the same registration code, if
  69.   you have one. Otherwise the evaluation period will be restarted.
  70.  
  71.   Unzip Crusrxxx.zip into an empty directory.
  72.   Right click on Cruiser.inf, choose install,
  73.   ignore the warning, click "browse" and find the 
  74.   directory in which you have unzipped the files:
  75.   the file "cruiser.exe" should appear, click OK,
  76.   and that's all!
  77.   Cruiser will auto-start next time you launch
  78.   Windows95, in the meanwhile you can run it
  79.   from the Start-menu, in the group named "Cruiser Browser".
  80.   If it shouldn't appear in the start-menu please 
  81.   restart Windows95.

  83.   If something goes wrong, or If you want to put Cruiser in a 
  84.   directory different from "Program Files", you can install it 
  85.   manually:

  87.  MANUAL INSTALLATION
  88.   Put Cruiser and all its files into an empty directory and create 
  89.   a link to Cruiser.exe in the "startup" folder of your start menu. 
  90.   Create a group named "Cruiser Browser", with a link to "Cruiser.exe" 
  91.   and one to "register.exe". That's all!
  92.   No dlls needed! 
  93.  
  94.  NO INSTALLATION
  95.   You can launch Cruiser directly without installation, if you
  96.   want to try it once, but it won't be very useful if not autostarted.

  101.  UN-INSTALLATION
  102.  
  103.   If Cruiser is running, exit (from options menu).
  104.   From Control Panel, Install application,
  105.   choose "Cruiser Uninstall".
  106.  
  107.   If you installed Cruiser manually, simply 
  108.   delete the folder and the link(s) you created
  109.   in the start menu.

  114.  INSTRUCTIONS
  115.  
  116.   - Click on the button with the small arrow to start browsing disks.
  117.   - Drag multiple folders/files on CRUISER to copy/move/link
  118.     them, selecting the action first ("Copy to, Move to, Create a shortcut in")
  119.     and then the destination directory with a right click .
  120.   - Drop a file on Cruiser, and select under "open with" the application
  121.     that will open your file. (Hint : add 'Windows\start menu' to your root
  122.     list, in order to find installed applications quickly)
  123.   - Drag multiple folders on CRUISER to browse them, directly
  124.     from the top items, if you don't choose an action.
  125.   - RIGHT CLICK on Cruiser to set options,
  126.     disable "show icons" if you need a faster behavior.
  127.   - Choose "Save preferences" from option menu to record the window 
  128.     position and your menu option for next launch.
  129.  
  130.   while browsing :
  131.   - LEFT CLICK to open selected document or launch an application
  132.   - RIGHT CLICK to open a desktop window of the selected directory
  133.     (if you are selecting a directory)
  134.     or the parent directory of the selected file (if you
  135.     are selecting a file, which will be highlighted).
  136.  - SHIFT+RIGHT CLICK to open an explorer view of the selected directory
  137.     (you can toggle this SHIFT-behaviour by selecting
  138.     "Explorer view as default" from option menu), same as above if you
  139.     are selecting a file
  140.   - CTRL+RIGHT CLICK to open a DOS session in the selected
  141.     directory.
  142.   - Broken or unresolvable links in a directory which Cruiser is opening
  143.     could slow the browsing process: it's advisable to fix them.

  146.     
  147.  CUSTOMIZATION
  148.   You can select "Add xxx\yyy\zzz to root list", from
  149.   options menu, to append the folder xxx\yyy\zzz you have just opened 
  150.   to the root list of browsable drives (for example, I have added the 
  151.   "programs" menu of Win95, the Desktop folder and my preferred 
  152.   internet shortcuts). 
  153.   You can then edit & organize the names or delete entries of the list
  154.   by selecting 'Organize root list' from the options menu, 
  155.   and then editing the contents of the folder, which keeps the shortcuts 
  156.   to your preferred directories. Select 'Reload root disk' when you have 
  157.   finished, to reload your preferred directories.

  159.   You can select the disks to hide from the options menu, under 
  160.   "Hide these Disks" if you don't want to display some disks
  161.   in the root popup menu.
  162.   I usually keep "Sort by Extensions" checked to facilitate visual 
  163.   grouping of files in big directories.

  168.   REGISTRATION
  169.  
  170. SHAREWARE 13$ - free use for 100-Windows-sessions evaluation period,
  171. after which you have to register.
  172. Use the "register.exe" program (found in the "Cruiser Browser" group, 
  173. if you installed Cruiser correctly) distributed with Cruiser
  174. to send your money. You can choose many payment methods:
  175. credit card, checks, cash, etc.; send any payment to Kagi Sales,
  176. which collect them for me, following the instructions in the
  177. "register" program; 
  178. please include a valid email address where we can send the
  179. "Registration Code" to you, in a few days, which enables 
  180. the use of Cruiser forever.
  181. If you don't, we will send the "Registration Code" to you by
  182. snail-mail, but it could take many weeks.
  183.  
  184. VERY IMPORTANT:
  185. You MUST include the "Access Code" that you obtain from
  186. Cruiser running the program, right-clicking on it and selecting
  187. "register" from the popup menu: you can cut and paste the code
  188. into the "Register keyword Entry" window of register.exe.
  189.  
  190. There is only one Registration Code for every Access code, so if
  191. you forget to put this information you won't receive the 
  192. registration code which unlocks the use of Cruiser forever.
